WNUR News Apparel

Branded Apparel

The Problem: WNUR News, a student-run radio station in Evanston, needed merchandise that would make a splash on campus while bringing the station and their listeners together as a community.

The Solution: Two seasons of stylish apparel that broadcasters and students alike are excited to wear, featuring a slick, pop-graphic-design vibe that sets the station apart from other campus orgs and draws in new listeners.

Girliepop Vibes

2024’s designs drew from Polly Pocket, chunky plastic jewelry, and a fruity vibe. You know, all stuff you want to put in your mouth.

Space-Age Radio

2022’s collection pulled from space-age aesthetics to give the merch a rad, Googie edge.

Process

A professor once told me the medium you brainstorm in shapes how the whole project looks, and I couldn’t agree more. I started these projects sketching by hand to keep things loose and expressive.
I brainstormed beanies, stickers, and the sweater design on the same file to keep each design unique within a consistent system.
I start projects by providing clients a variety of directions to go. I present those directions as loose sketches, like these, to help clients focus on overall vibe rather than locking in on details of layout or color.
