| The Problem:
The Hold My Beer cycling club, made up of outdoorsy, play-hard dads, was in need of jerseys to establish the group as a proper team on their annual trips.
The Solution: Custom bike jerseys that celebrate the club’s demographic and rally around shared experiences, poking sporty fun at the highs and lows (and broken bones) that come with being middle-aged mountain biker. |
Just Because It’s a Bad Idea...
2022’s design. Fun fact: when one of the club members broke his arm on the trip, the ER staff insisted on figuring out how to get his shirt off without cutting it because they thought it was too awesome to ruin.
The Ego Is Not Your Amigo
2024’s design, reminding everyone that nobody is invincible. Each jersey features the club member’s nickname on the right sleeve.
Process
One of the team members commissioned the jerseys as a surprise to the rest of the team, meaning I wasn’t able to ask for wider feedback on colors and layout. So, I wandered through the REI men’s section to get a bead on current trends in colors and graphics.
